Thailand offers visa exemption to nationals from numerous countries, allowing travelers to enter without obtaining a visa in advance. As of July 15, 2024, citizens from 93 countries and territories are permitted to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days under the Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme

Thailand offers visa exemption to citizens of many countries, allowing travelers to visit without applying for a visa in advance.

  • Duration of Stay: Eligible travelers can stay up to 60 days under the Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme.
  • Extension: This period can be extended by 30 additional days at a local immigration office, allowing a total stay of up to 90 days.

Entry Requirements for Visa-Free Travel

To enter Thailand under the visa exemption policy, travelers must meet the following requirements:

  • Passport Validity: Your passport must have at least 6 months remaining.
  • Proof of Accommodation: Provide hotel bookings or an invitation letter as evidence.
  • Proof of Funds: Show at least 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family.
  • Return Ticket: Have evidence of departure from Thailand within the allowed period.
  • Purpose of Visit: Your trip must be for tourism or short-term business engagements.

Countries Eligible for Visa-Free Entry

Visitors from 93 countries will now be able to enjoy visa-free entry to Thailand for a visit of up to 60 days, according to the newly approved implementation. This is applicable to both business and tourism visits and is valid from July 15, 2024, onwards.
